Maria Roopa - An Inspiration

Maria Roopa [Chandra Shekar Institute for Speech and Hearing.]

It’s a great pleasure and honour in introducing Ms. Maria Roopa. To give you some insights into her life; she’s pursuing her Bachelors degree in Art & Literature and resides in Bangalore-India with her brothers and sisters. Her only ambition and goal is to follow the footsteps of Mother Teresa. She admires her humble sacrifice made towards helping others. Ms. Roopa, does exactly the same in her every day life.

From the age of 23 yrs, she is very focused and determined to reach her objectives, no matter what. We interviewed this beautiful individual who hails from a middle class family comprising of two elder brothers and an elder sister. We also had a word with their family members too.

Her mission to help begins from her Home. She's an helping hand to all her family members[Nithya, Rebecca Priya, and Diviya Prasad]. This family lost their parents at a very early age and have grown up to live happily only by helping each other. Roopa contributes a lot. Nothing moves in house, or not a second passes by without their brothers and sister calling her for assistance. She’s been serving them humbly without any complaints since her teenage.

She has a different view of pleasure; helping and visiting the homeless or the orphans, gives her much pleasure than anything else that one can think at her age. Roopa has only one friend that she talks, messages and shares gifts with. Jennifer, Samson’s only sister. Jennifer who’s married to Gunashekar, honours and appreciates her for all that she’s doing on a regular basis. Jennifer is a part of Roopa’s moral support.

Roopa seems to be content in life. When questioned about money, success and fame. She waves her beautiful smile and says “I have everything with me, that I can think of. Why should I worry about money when my brothers and sisters are here to take care of my every need?”

Her spiritual knowledge is extremely high compared to any normal individual in that age group. Roopa learns and teaches sign language to the children who are hearing impaired. She also works has a volunteer in Chandra Shekhar Institute for Speech and Hearing.

She’s very happy helping children who are mentally handicapped and partially disabled. Roopa finds her joy helping and teaching these individuals to do their basic work of taking care of themselves. She contributes her time and money to help these uniquely blessed individuals to cope up with life.
She helps them to learn common words, maths, and games, helps them to draw, paint, create crafts, and also makes them perform on stage shows. She recently has helped the mentally retarded individuals and the deaf to perform for Amir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par title song.

It’s a glorious sight to watch these uniquely talented individuals watch Roopa for step by step instructions as they “dance”. This video link with take you right there…

You are looking at an absolutely deaf and mentally challenged group perform with Roopa. We’re sure that the God she serves must be delighted watching this individual perform. She’s just started and we all from Shineforever.com wish her all happiness and success.

We need more people like Roopa to make this world a happy place.
